At Wellbeing, we understand that booking an assessment can be a big step, and you may have questions about the process, or you or your child’s suitability for an assessment. We offer a free initial virtual chat with a therapist to give you advice on the pathway steps to take before you come in to see us. This is available whether you are considering the self-pay route or are currently on the NHS waiting list for an assessment.
Our virtual consultations are designed to fit in with your lifestyle, meaning that you don’t need to go to one of our venues straight away. This can be particularly useful if you find it difficult to arrange childcare or your child does not react well to unfamiliar situations. In the call, the therapist can discuss any emerging concerns with you, and whether the assessment is what you are thinking of or hoping for, before you make the decision to book with us. We offer several time slots at convenient intervals throughout the week, giving you the opportunity to ask as many questions as you like in an informal setting, and for our therapist to find out more about you or your child’s difficulties.
Topics of conversation during the autism consultation or ADHD consultation could include any worries that you have about your child’s development, any particular adjustments that you may need before visiting one of our venues, or clarification on what the assessment process entails.
Virtual Consultation with a Therapist - FREE
The ADHD or autism consultation call will last for 15 minutes, and is available either on the phone or Microsoft Teams to allow you to put a face to a name. It is completely free so that you can decide whether an assessment is the right option for you or your child. This is a new service, so we are receptive to feedback on any adjustments that we can make. These consultations are designed to ease the process for you, and complement the NHS provision if that is the route you are on. If you are no longer able to attend your pre-booked virtual appointment, we ask that you let us know as soon as possible.
